Novik's Temeraire series is engaging, with characters you would like to meet, a great mix of historical fantasy, action sequences, and diversity training... how do you give "human rights" to dragons?
A must-buy for those who like to read:
I was really happy when these books were delivered to me, since I'd heard a lot about them and really wanted to read them. So far, I'm still as happy as when I first got them. They are excellently written, and you don't have to be a fan of fantasy to enjoy them either. You will enjoy them if you have even a slight interest in history, and maybe dragons. Great Books, Bad Way to Buy Them:
I've been a huge fan of Naomi Novik's Temeraire series for about a year. These are some great books, full of action, adventure, originality, and good writing. I haven't had this much fun reading a new series since Harry Potter first came out. But this is not a recommended way to purchase the books. When my box set arrived, I pulled out the books only to find that one of them had been mangled in the box. I was sorely disappointed.
