This Euro-Pro Shark bagless vacuum is a lightweight canister model designed for regular cleaning and quick pick-ups. Suitable for most surfaces, the 1300-watt machine comes with a simple suction nozzle for hard floors and an air-driven turbo nozzle with agitator bristles for carpet. For upholstery, draperies, and ceilings, the Shark canister features a shoulder strap that eliminates awkward dragging. Dirt collects in a large, transparent dust cup that removes from the machine for emptying. An internal HEPA filter traps 99.97 percent of dust, pollen, and mold spores, and can be tapped or rinsed clean for regular maintenance. The vacuum's chrome handle telescopes for height adjustment, and the flexible hose is ready to use with the included crevice tool and upholstery brush. Sizable wheels, chunky buttons, and automatic cord retraction make for nice features. Though not as heavy-duty or capacious as other canister models on the market, the Shark is a good match for anyone who likes a light vacuum, has hardwoods or low-pile carpets, and suffers from airborne allergens. --Emily Bedard

DO NOT BUY THIS VACUUM!!!!: 
I've had this vacuum for about a year and the only time it had good suction was the 1st time I used it - after that it was all down hill. I use it to clean 2 regular size rooms and a hallway and I have to bang the filter clean after each room. The so called "powered" floor wand hardly ever works b/c it runs on the suction power the machine does not have. Every time I vacuum with this thing it takes me 3x longer than it did with my old one. Replacement filters are no where to be found. BUYER BE WARE!!!!
Filter Replacements: 
I noticed that many people were looking for filter replacements for the Shark EP79. It took me literally hours of looking for these filters myself because my filter is in pretty tough shape, even though the vacuum cleaner is still working fine EXCEPT for the rotary brush which broke within the first week of use (this same thing happened with my in-laws unit). The suction is BAD the air brush quit. There is NO WHERE to buy parts for this thing..I spend more time fighting with this thing than using it...will never buy this brand again..vacuum or otherwise......gave one star because there was no zero...
I don't recommend anyone to buy this vacuum:
I bougth this vacuum about a year ago...and now looking for another one. It is terrible on carpets (especially if you have an animal in the house). It's ok for hard wood floors, but I think that if you are looking to buy a vacuum cleaner, you don't want one to clean floors and another one for carpets. That's nuts! Filters are imposibble to buy too!
