Straight from the late-night infomercials comes the Shark Portable Pro. This lightweight portable steam cleaner has a tank about the size and shape of a coffee perculator but packs 1,600 watts of power--the most power of any handheld steam cleaner and more than even some commercial steamers. The stainless-steel steam generator takes only 4 minutes to heat up and the 30-ounce stainless-steel boiler hangs over your shoulder on its strap to travel indoors or out. A multipurpose household appliance, the Shark Portable Pro has a wide range of functions, from careful steaming of delicate clothing to heavy-duty cleaning in bathrooms and kitchens without the use of harmful chemicals. The steam cleaner comes with multiple attachments, including a floor brush; a squeegee for windows, tile, shower doors, and mirrors; a concentrator nozzle for spraying dirt or grease from car tires, garbage cans, grills, and ovens; and an angled detail brush for hard-to-reach places, such as under the toilet bowl rim or within the shower-door track. A flexible hose and two extension tubes alter the steamer to reach any cleaning job. The Shark Portable Pro weighs a little over 11 pounds and is covered by a 1-year manufacturer's warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

General cleaning does a good job:
There's 3 dogs in the house and occasionally the big one doesn't get outside quick enough. The Shark(tm) SC 505 does a good job cleaning and sanitizing the floor.
I used the floor tool with bristle brush until I just broke it tonight, looking around for a replacement head.
It cleans almost the whole kitchen and makes quick work of the grease stains that occur during cooking on the stove.
It's a good little unit.I've used it to steam clean a Ford engine, clean counters, sanitize the... more info
DON'T EVER BUY ANY SHARK PRODUCTS--EVER!!:
Anything that I have ever purchased from Shark company has broken within a few weeks of purchase. My problem was when I didn't use it for several months because I moved to a place with wood floors. I had stored it with the cap on the whole time and when I took it out a few days ago to clean my oven, the cap wouldn't come off. I tried rubber bands, etc. and it's like it was cemented on there. I read the manual again, which I did read from cover... more info
